In 2021, Maitland New Year’s Eve proudly presented by PRD Hunter Valley brings you a ticketed outdoor VIP experience!

From 6.00pm to 9.00pm at the St John the Baptist Catholic Chapel Lawn, The Pourhouse will be serving up some delicious cheese platter grazing boxes and tasty drinks for patrons to bring in the new year.

In your exclusive area, enjoy the live DJ, tabletop games and a prime viewing area of the 9.00pm fireworks.

As one of Maitland’s seven flagship events, the popular celebrations typically attract thousands of people to the city.

Maitland Railway Station is only a 500 metre or five-minute walk from The Levee.

There are a range of transport options including bustrain and taxi.

The official taxi ranks will not be affected by the road closures or the event.

They are located at:

  • Elgin Street opposite ANZ
  • Ken Tubman Dr opposite cinemas
  • Temporary Bus Zones be installed on Ken Tubman Drive between High Street Maitland and Allan Walsh Drive; and, Ken Tubman Drive east of Church Street.
  • Temporary resident only parking Denman Street Maitland. Hotel.

With Maitland Train Station being only a short 8 minute walk from the event site, catching a train into Maitland NYE is one of the easiest ways to get into the event.

There are a range of car parks available around Central Maitland if you choose to drive to Maitland New Years Eve.

Each of the car parks listed has accessible parking available.

With the amount of people attending the event, parking can become an issue for some.

Maitland New Year’s Eve Celebrations are held in the Riverside Car Park, Maitland, Lorn Riverbank, Cathedral Street Car Park

The event runs from 5.00pm – 9.00pm.

The event is free to attend. 

Dogs are permitted on site, however they must be on a leash and with their owner at all times.

We ask that dog owners respect the event site as well as other event attendees by picking up after your dog.

We expect crowds of around 8,000 – 10,000 people so we ask that you don’t bring any dogs with an aggressive nature to the event.

We also ask that you keep in mind that there will be a fireworks display. For more information on how to care for your animals during fireworks, please visit https://kb.rspca.org.au/knowledge-base/how-should-i-care-for-my-pets-during-fireworks-displays/. 

The fireworks display will commence at 9.00pm.

The alcohol free zone is lifted from 3.00pm – 9.30pm. During this time, patrons can bring and consume small quantities of alcohol within the event site.

The Riverside Carpark will turn into bustling hive of activity with a range of activities, amusements and yard games.

You can find a jumping castle, inflatable slide, storm swing rider, chair o’plane, totem tennis, kids craft, the wish fish, a kids disco, face painters, a photo wall and more!

The Cathedral Street Carpark will transform into an area with a range of free activities from amusements, face painting, music and Photo wall and more! 

We have heaps of activities Lorn side of the River to check out our activities on offer. 

There will be totem tennis, yard games, cricket, soccer as well as a mega slide!

Maitland New Year’s Eve proudly presented by PRD Hunter Valley

As one of Maitland’s seven flagship events, the popular New Year’s Eve celebrations is continuing for 2021. 

In 2021 we are extending the footprint of our New Year’s Eve celebrations to include the Riverside car park, the riverside and length of the river walk, RH Taylor Reserve, Lorn and Cathedral Street Carpark.

This family friendly event has a lot to offer, with kids and the young at heart to enjoy free amusements, face painting, activities and a disco playing all the top hits from 2021.

Food, beverage and dessert stalls will be available to tantalise the taste buds of all attendees.

Celebrations will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the night sky at 9.00pm.

There are lots of free activities on offer for the whole family to enjoy in a Covid safe environment.
