ROAD CLOSURES

From 6.00am Tuesday 31 December 2019 – 9.00am Wednesday 1 January 2020:

  • Riverside Cark Park
  • St Andrews St Maitland, North of High St (from the corner near The Belmore Hotel)
  • Imperial Lane (next to the Imperial)

From 3.00pm Tuesday 31 December 2019 to 1.00am Wednesday 1 January 2020

  • High Street Maitland, eastbound lane from Belmore Road to just west of Church St
  • High Street, westbound lane from just west of Church Street to Little Hunter Street (egress to Belmore Rd will be maintained via Little Hunter Street)

CARPARKS

There are a range of car parks throughout Central Maitland, please see the below the recommended parks:

  • St Andrews Street Car Park
  • Elgin Street Car Park
  • Albion Street Car Park
  • Sempil Street Car Park

TRAIN

With Maitland Train Station being only a short 8 minute walk from the event site, catching a train into Maitland Aroma is one of the easiest ways to get into the event.

TAXI

With the amount of people attending the event, parking can become an issue for some.

Taxi Services will be available throughout the event weekend.

FAQ's

Maitland New Year’s Eve Celebrations are held in the Riverside Car Park, Maitland.

The event runs from 5.00pm – 9.00pm.

The event is free to attend. 

Dogs are permitted on site, however they must be on a leash and with their owner at all times.

We ask that dog owners respect the event site as well as other event attendees by picking up after your dog.

We expect crowds of around 8,000 – 10,000 people so we ask that you don’t bring any dogs with an aggressive nature to the event.

We also ask that you keep in mind that there will be a fireworks display. For more information on how to care for your animals during fireworks, please visit https://kb.rspca.org.au/knowledge-base/how-should-i-care-for-my-pets-during-fireworks-displays/. 

The fireworks display will commence at 9.00pm.

The alcohol free zone is lifted from 3.00pm – 9.30pm. During this time, patrons can bring and consume small quantities of alcohol within the event site.

There will be no alcohol sales within the event.
