Getting Here

GETTING HERE

Maitland Railway Station is only a 800m or eight minute walk from the event.

Please visit www.transportnsw.info for full timetable information.

There are a range of transport options including bus, train and taxi.

With Maitland Railway Station being only a short 8 minute walk from the event site, catching a train into Maitland NYE is one of the easiest ways to get into the event.

With the amount of people attending the event, parking can become an issue for some.

Taxi services will be available throughout the event weekend.

The official taxi ranks will not be affected by the road closures or the event.

They are located at:

  • Elgin Street opposite ANZ
  • Ken Tubman Drive opposite cinemas
  • Temporary Bus Zones be installed on Ken Tubman Drive between High Street Maitland and Allan Walsh Drive; and, Ken Tubman Drive east of Church Street.
  • Temporary resident only parking Denman Street, Maitland.

Riverside Car Park, St Andrews Street Maitland, North of High Street (from the corner near The Belmore Hotel), Stillsburys Lane

  • From 6.00am Wednesday 31 December 2025 to 12.00pm Thursday 1 January 2026.

High Street Maitland, eastbound lane from Belmore Road to just west of Church Street,  High Street, westbound lane from just west of Church Street to Little Hunter Street (egress to Belmore Rd will be maintained via Little Hunter Street)

  • From 3.00pm Wednesday 31 December 2025 – 1.00am Thursday 1 January 2026.

The Levee Shared Zone, High Street between Elgin Street and Bourke Street, Bulwer Street north of Dransfield Lane to High Street

  • From 5.00pm Wednesday 31 December 2025 to 10.30pm Wednesday 31 December 2025.

Lorn

  • No road closure in place however, increased traffic activity expected in Lorn, due to activities at RH Taylor Reserve.

FAQ's

Maitland New Year’s Eve Celebrations are held in the Riverside Car Park, Maitland, RH Taylor Reserve, Lorn and Maitland Riverbank.

Maitland New Year’s Eve runs from 5.00pm – 9.30pm.

Maitland New Year’s Eve is a free event for all to attend. 

Dogs are permitted on site at Maitland New Year’s, however they must be on a leash and with their owner at all times.

We ask that dog owners respect the event site as well as other event attendees by picking up after your dog.

We expect crowds of around 8,000 – 15,000 people so we ask that you don’t bring any dogs with an aggressive nature to the event.

We also ask that you keep in mind that there will be a fireworks display.

The fireworks display will commence at 9.00pm at Maitland New Year’s. Don’t miss it!

The alcohol free zone is lifted from 3.00pm – 9.30pm.

During this time, patrons can bring and consume small quantities of alcohol within the event site.

There will be no alcohol sales within the event.

NYE Activities

Celebrate the end of the year with a bang, with a whole range of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The Riverside Carpark will turn into bustling hive of activity with a range of food, activities, amusements, popcorn and yard games.

Don’t miss the sky light up with a spectacular display of fireworks sponsored by Valley Estate Agents at 9.00pm.

Head to Maitland Riverbank, Riverside Car Park and RH Taylor Reserve, Lorn, and join us for New Year’s Eve proudly presented by Valley Estate Agents  and Maitland City Council to end the year with a bang!

From 5pm, this family friendly event has a lot to offer, with free amusements, face painting, live music, activities and a disco playing all the top hits from 2025.

There will be loads of food, beverage and dessert stalls available to tantalise the taste buds of all attendees.

Celebrations will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the night sky at 9pm.
