Maitland Events is seeking volunteers to assist in the delivery of Maitland River Regatta.

Volunteering is a great opportunity to meet new people, work as part of a team, give back to the community and learn new skills whilst having a lot of fun in the process.

Maitland River Regatta Information

MAITLAND RIVER REGATTA

What better way to spend a summers day floating than down the river? Head on down to RH Taylor Reserve, Lorn on Wednesday 26 January for a day full of family fun!

Attendees can come along and participate in the Maitland River Regatta!

At RH Taylor Reserve Lorn, patrons can purchase a ticket to hire a boat and float down the River to the now famous, Lorn Beach.

INCLUSIONS

  • 1 hour session
  • Inflatable boat for up to 2 people (max 150kgs)

Tickets are sold by boat, each boat costs $15.00 and can hold up to two people

All persons participating in the Maitland River Regatta must submit a signed waiver during entry processing. Please download using the button below. We recommend that you fill this in prior to the event day and bring along with you to submit during entry processing. 

REGATTA PARTICIPATION

  • Maitland River Regatta has a minimum age requirement of 6 years of age. No Patrons under 6 can participate in the
    Regatta.
  • All Patrons under the age of 16 must always have a parent or guardian in the boat with them.
  • Maitland River Regatta has a minimum weight requirement of 15 kilos. No Patrons under 15 kilos can participate in
    the Regatta.
  • All Patrons participating in the Maitland River Regatta must always wear a life jacket suitable to their weight range
    during the Regatta. Life vests will be available on arrival (15kgs – 40kgs, 40kgs – 60kgs, Over 60kgs).
  • Each Regatta boat is a maximum of two people and must not exceed 150kgs.
  • Patrons will be refused entry if under the influence of alcohol.
  • Patrons must stay within the Regatta Exclusion zone. If Patrons leave the zone they will be removed from the Regatta.
  • All patrons participating in the Regatta must have filled in and signed the Wavier Form. If you are under the age of 16,
    a parent or guardian must do so on your behalf.
  •  Ticket holders enter the event at their own risk.

Maitland City Council welcomes all visitors to Maitland and works towards ensuring that all seven of our flagship events are accessible for everyone.

Please find below some information about the site and accessibility options available.

Maitland Australia Day Celebrations will be held in Maitland.

The site is mostly grassed with  with sloping surfaces. 

The grounds are uneven in parts.

Accessible toilets will be hired in for the duration of the event.

Wherever possible guests are being encouraged to use public transport to get to and from the event.

Maitland Railway Station is only a 5 minute walk from the Riverside Carpark.

There are a range of transport options including bustrain and taxi.

With Maitland Train Station being only a short 8 minute walk from the event site, catching a train into Maitland river Regatta is one of the easiest ways to get into the event.

There are a range of car parks available around Central Maitland if you choose to drive to Maitland River Regatta.

Each of the car parks listed has accessible parking available.

With the amount of people attending the event, parking can become an issue for some.

FAQ's

Maitland River Regatta will be held RH Taylor Reserve, Lorn and Lorn Beach, 

The event will run from 3.00pm – 8.00pm with the Regatta running from 3.00pm – 7.00pm. 

The event is free to attend, however the Regatta is $15.00 per boat (1-2 people).

Dogs are permitted on site, however they must be on a leash and with their owner at all times.

We ask that dog owners respect the event site as well as other event attendees by picking up after your dog.

We expect crowds of around 8,000 – 10,000 people so we ask that you don’t bring any dogs with an aggressive nature to the event.
