Join us for Australia Day activities at Maitland Park on Tuesday 26 January.

With free entry to Maitland Aquatic Centre from 12.00pm – 5.00pm, a free barbeque from 12.00pm – 1.00pm, stalls, amusement rides, thong throwing competition, craft, beach activities and more, it’s a perfect day out for the whole family!

In 2020, for the first time , Maitland’s Official Australia Day Ceremony, which also includes Maitland’s Australia Day Awards and citizenship ceremony, was held indoors at Maitland Town Hall from. The ceremony including keynote address, Australia Day Awards and citizenship ceremony was live streamed on Council’s website.

The ceremony in 2021 will once again be held in Maitland Town Hall. 

Following the Citizenship Ceremony, celebrations continue over in Maitland Park. With free entry to Maitland Aquatic Centre, a free BBQ lunch, stalls, amusement rides, craft activites, beach activities and more, it is a perfect day out for the whole family. 


We have loads of fun and free activities in Maitland Park on Australia Day including, beach cricket, volleyball, thong throwing, craft activities, free BBQ, amusement rides and more.

Australia Day Celebrations in Maitland is a free event for all to come along and enjoy.
Maitland Pool has free entry from 12.00pm till 5.00pm.
