Maitland Events is the section of Maitland City Council responsible for the delivery of seven flagship events for the City each year.
The events team organise and manage Maitland’s Australia Day celebrations, Maitland Taste, Hunter Valley Steamfest, Maitland Aroma, Maitland Riverlights, Bitter & Twisted Boutique Beer Festival and New Year’s Eve festivities.
The events are considered to be an integral part of Maitland’s cultural identity and are helping the city to become widely recognised as a home of unique, exciting and extremely successful festivals.
Maitland has a population of 75,000 and is the fastest growing inland city in Australia.
These flagship events are a key attraction for the city, popular with both residents and visitors, attracting over 130,000 people and annually injecting $20 million into the local economy.
